About the founder

Thomas Abegg can look back at many years of success as an entrepreneur. With the Avobis Group, he built the leading independent service provider in the field of real estate and mortgages in Switzerland. Never to stand still was always important to him, so it is not surprising that over time other pillars were added to his portfolio, whether as an investor in various SMEs or as a publisher of Marmite, the leading Swiss culinary platform. Thomas Abegg is devoted to the fine arts, especially as a music lover and passionate art collector, and has repeatedly supported promising artists in their development. In addition, he enjoys travel and appreciates inspiring dialogue with interesting people from all over the world.

Equal opportunities in education and the preservation of knowledge across generations are just some of Thomas Abegg’s concerns. Especially in countries where state funding is lacking, the Thomas Abegg Foundation works to support suitable projects. An important insight he made already at the beginning of his career was the fundamental importance of strong networks. His foundation therefore also supports spaces and platforms that foster cooperation and the formation of networks on relevant topics across geographic borders.
